"When you are broken sexually, it makes it incredibly difficult for you to give yourself completely to your husband, because you are not complete anymore.
This same principle makes it very difficult for sexually broken or violated women to stand strong in the face of saying no even when they want to. They are overwhelmed with either lust or guilt, and often both, which makes it nearly impossible for them to resist sexual advances. They become victims and a magnet for sexual abuse and promiscuity. Things are done to them, or they find themselves inflamed with lust because of past encounters with other partners. But the impossible without God becomes the possible with Him.
In order to walk in purity, we must be whole, and only God can restore us to wholeness where there has been brokenness. Only God can restore honor to our sexuality when there's been violation and dishonor. Only God can take the impure and defiled and make it holy and pure again. Only God can give us beauty for the ashes we bring Him."
